It's easy to get taken in by Ethnos360's flashy marketing and flowery words, but what is the truth behind the pretty pictures? Should we trust that any institution interested in self-promotion would be completely honest about the difficult things happening behind the scenes? When an organization uses nondisclosure agreements and financial settlements that require silence, it's because there are stories they don't want you to hear. If Ethnos360 was doing a great job at responding to abuse, there wouldn't be story after story, lawsuit after lawsuit, media piece after media piece.
Missionary kids have been telling these stories even though Ethnos360 has put substantial effort into silencing and discrediting them. If you spend time in the organization, you will hear members of Ethnos360 describe anyone with a critical word to say about the organization as bitter, angry, unhappy, worldly, selfish, holding a grudge, and the list could go on. Instead of leading with compassion, empathy, and a desire to learn, there has been a concerted effort to minimize, deflect, and ignore the experiences of MKs. In this series, I will highlight the missionary kids who have told their stories, the stories Ethnos360 doesn't want you to hear.
