Nondisclosure agreements

Why would a nonprofit use nondisclosure agreements (NDAs)?
Many Ethnos360 missionaries and MKs have alleged Ethnos360's use of NDAs in a variety of circumstances. According to Ethnos Truth Project, Ethnos360 lied to Ministry Watch about their use of NDAs, saying they didn't use them when in fact they do. Since Ethnos Truth Project provided proof to Ministry Watch regarding Ethnos360's use of NDAs, Ethnos360's donor confidence score has reflected this reality.
Katelyn Beaty discussed the use of NDAs in a Religion News Service article entitled, "NDAs are a tool for toxic church cultures." The article includes specific examples of churches and religious institutions using NDAs to prevent people from sharing the truth about the culture and behaviors that define them. She says, "In many large churches and organizations, NDAs have served to conceal the truth and to protect the image of top leaders, allowing them to continue harming others entrusted to their care."
I believe Ethnos360's use of NDAs is a significant red flag. These thoughts from the RNS article sum it up well: "Clinical psychologist and abuse expert Diane Langberg once wrote, 'NDAs protect systems rather than precious humans made in the image of our God.' There is no religious system, however impressive or 'successful,' that’s worth the mistreatment of humans or the binding of their consciences to speak of what happened to them. If there’s nothing to hide, then there’s nothing to fear."
