GRACETHERESA SIDEBOTHAM/TELIOS LAWINVESTIGATIONABUSE

Scope -- 7 countries and 1 region -- West Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and the United States
Pages -- 85
Footnotes -- 1 page of footnotes for the entire document
Introduction, background, and context -- 55 pages
Findings -- 7 partial pages with only a few sentences or a couple of paragraphs for most countries. No names.
Leadership culpability -- 2 1/2 pages, separate from the other findings. Very little leadership culpability was found, and at times it included a confusing explanation of disagreement on culpability between investigators and the recommendations panel. No culpable leaders were named.
Recommendations -- instead of recommendations, there are reflections and opinions, which include 8 pages of explanation of each location's NTM/Ethnos360 culture, 2 1/2 pages of "general opinions," which begin with the assertion that missionaries and MKs want to "close this chapter of their lives."
Conclusion -- 1 paragraph
More excuses -- and if we were still unsure whether this was straight Ethnos360 propaganda, there is a page telling how the policies are better. The "investigators" want us to know that Ethnos360 has changed.
Letters -- includes letters from Ethnos360 leaders and IHART.
Statistics -- there are a variety of maps, charts, and statistics, some of which are misleading.
Padding -- a comparison that is hard to explain without seeing it is the difference in the visual presentation and space usage (see video). The IHART report has large font at times, text boxes, a lot of pictures, and a lot of white space. There are many visual elements but a lack of substance.
Scope -- 1 school -- Fanda (Senegal)
Pages -- 76
Footnotes -- extensive on nearly every page of description
Introduction and background -- 5 pages
Findings -- 41 pages, including names of abusers and descriptions of the gravity of the abuse as well as descriptions of leadership culpability.
Leadership culpability -- 5 1/2 pages, included with the other findings. Includes names of culpable leaders.
Recommendations -- 18 pages, including specific recommendations for each abuser and culpable leader.
Conclusion -- 2 pages
Amendment -- 8 pages of additional details, explanations, etc.
I've wanted to do a comparison between the GRACE report and an IHART report under the leadership of Theresa Sidebotham. I've struggled to figure out a way to concisely and clearly show the differences, but I'm going to do my best to outline them side by side. For context, the GRACE report is an investigation into one NTM school, while this IHART world report is an investigation into NTM/Ethnos360's work in 7 countries and 1 region. The page numbers are approximate, and the conclusions are my own opinion. To view these side by side requires desktop mode.
