Ethnos360 on lawsuits

Whether lawsuits are acceptable is inconsistently applied by Ethnos360. Recently a lawsuit was filed against the organization alleging failure to protect a child at one of its training facilities. I have since heard allegations that members of Ethnos360 leadership, including Ethnos360 Bible Institute leadership, have told members and students that filing a lawsuit is divisive and contrary to biblical guidelines. This is a long-standing excuse/accusation used by members of Ethnos360 toward survivors of abuse and crimes perpetrated by the organization or its members.
Interestingly enough, Ethnos360 does not hold itself to these same guidelines. A simple search will bring up several lawsuits with Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission as the plaintiff. There are three lawsuits against the City of Waukesha, the location of their Bible Institute, for repayment of taxes they believe they shouldn't owe (I guess EBI doesn't consider these lawsuits divisive). There are several legal disputes over estate funds. And there are other legal disputes in which they're named as plaintiffs. And according to an MK, they even threatened him with a lawsuit just for speaking out about abuse in the organization.
I find it fascinating that Ethnos360 leadership will tell members, students, survivors, and supporters that lawsuits should not be filed when the organization or its members are the defendants, but they seem to have no problem filing a lawsuit when the organization is the plaintiff. It's especially noteworthy since a few of these lawsuits are specifically filed by Ethnos360 Bible Institute while leadership there has allegedly told their students that filing a lawsuit against the organization is wrong. It seems a little too convenient.
